The Reading Resource Program involves small group remedial instruction in grades 1-5 as well as whole classroom instruction in all grades. Students who participate in small group instruction are recommended by their teacher based on PALS scores, Language Arts Diagnostic testing, SOL scores, and DRA testing. Those students work on phonemic awareness, decoding, vocabulary, fluency, reading strategies and comprehension. Whole class lessons include a variety of reading, writing, and word study. The Reading Specialist is the Literacy Coach for the school.
